Su Mang sparks anger after saying that 650 yuan ($101) is not enough money for a day's worth of food.

On a recent episode of a new variety show, Su Mang's words sparked anger in netizens as it reminded them once again about the disparity between the rich and the poor. The growing class divide has become a significant social issue in recent years. Su Mang is a businesswoman and the editor-in-chief of Harper's Bazaar China. She is one of the most influential figures in the world of Chinese fashion.

Su Mang: "Every day, each of you should first pay food expenses."

Chen Chenchen: "Let's first settle upon a number, everyone can pay this."

Song Dandan: "Then let's do 650."

Su Mang: "No, 650 isn't enough."

Song Dandan: "Why?"

Su Mang: "Do you not drink milk and eat eggs in the morning? We have to eat well! I can't have such bad food."

3. The official account clarified that each person paid 650 yuan to be used for the food expenses of 15 people over the course of 21 days. [+10244]

Response: She said that each person should pay 650 yuan every day for living expenses. How did 650 yuan become 21 days? Can she even match what she said at first and what she said later? [+9150]

4. The unevenness of the world. So what's the point of these people chasing celebrities? Every day, they're clamoring on about how they need to support their gege, that they're afraid their gege won't be living well. It's better that you worry more about your own quality of life. [允悲] [+5457]

2. If you really said 650 yuan per 21 days, would Teacher Dandan be so surprised and ask aloud, "Even 650 isn't enough?" [+10352]

3. Eh? I watched the video. It was indeed 650 yuan per person per day. There was nothing wrong. [+5337]

4. What good stuff do you eat that causes you to look so old? [+2285]

5. Has nothing to do with 650 yuan. You're just someone who's naturally not likable. [+1942]

6. I watched the full episode and you didn't speak like that. Marketing accounts are wrongly creating a false narrative! Too abhorrent! [+1525]

Response: I went and watched. She said the exact same thing as what the marketing accounts said she said. There was not one word of difference! [+4786]
