The Douban score for Ancient Love Poetry, one of Tencent's S-tier dramas of the year, has been released. The drama, starring Zhou Dongyu and Xu Kai, opens up with a dismal 4.8. The drama has faced criticism from netizens in recent weeks; points of criticism include the two leads' acting, the CGI, and the dubbing of Zhou Dongyu's character.

An interviewer brought up a netizen's comment on the box office of Wolf Warrior 2, a Chinese movie directed by and starring Wu Jing. The netizen remarked that Wolf Warrior 2 had entered the list of the 100 highest-grossing films in the world of all time. However, 99% of the box office earnings came from mainland China. The interviewer asked Wu Jing what his view was on this. Wu Jing responded: "So? A lot of Hollywood movies' box office contributions come from mainland China. Isn't it still money?" He laughed and then asked, "Is there a need to nitpick such things?"

A video of actor Hu Jun talking about his famous CP with actor Liu Ye from the critically acclaimed gay-themed 2001 movie Lan Yu recently went viral on Weibo. He was asked, "Regarding the matter of people being a CP fan of you and Liu Yu, what do you think about it?" He said, "I am especially grateful to everyone. A single film has caused everyone to talk about it for so long. It's a recognition of me and Ye-zi." (Ye-zi is a diminutive form of Liu Ye.)

The first season of Joy of Life, which starred Zhang Ruoyun, Li Qin, and Chen Daoming and aired in 2019, was well-received in China. It currently has a score of 8.0 on Douban.

At the Yuewen Original IPs Gala, Hu Ge discusses why he hasn't filmed a xianxia or xuanhuan work in a decade. He said, "Ten years ago, I said that I wanted to transform my image. But this year, I can say that the reason I haven't been filming these types of works is because I haven't seen a good script. I haven't seen a good story. When it comes to creating film or television, content will always be the most important element."

Ode to Joy 3, the third season of the popular drama, has announced its new cast and released an initial poster. This is a Daylight Entertainment production. The scriptwriter, Ah Nai, also wrote the script for another acclaimed Daylight drama called All is Well. The director, Jian Chuanhe, is also the director of All is Well. Hou Hongliang is the chief producer, who also produced Nirvana in Fire, The Story of Minglan, and Battle of Changsha.
